Here are some additions on meteor and react that i found worth to mention following the great tutorial on the Meteor Website.
Eclipse IDE Integration (Typescript)
I actually like to use Eclipse, i tried atom before (mostly for wordpress development), but switched back to Eclipse after a while. The first problem i came across was no Typescript integration in Eclipse (i have webtools extension installed, but that doesn’t cover Typescript). So i searched a while and came across http://typecsdev.com/download.html.
Integration works pretty well, unfortunately HTML Code in jsx files doesn’t indent properly. The ts-console outputs errors for relative file imports that contain ../
But ok, for now i can live with that (actually it starts to be annoying).
Problems & Solutions
meteor npm command not found
This happens when you have installed an old version of meteor. The installer itself will not update your installation. You need to update it via the command line.
meteor update
That’s it. This will install the newest version of meteor. You can check it with
meteor --version
